Welcome to Kenya Matters blog!

Friends,

Since a recent trip to Kenya, we've been working hard to put efforts into this amazing non-profit that needs YOUR help.

I'm not simplyt asking for money, but I'm asking because we have 130 orphans who need support from somewhere. They need support for food, education, and clothes - basic stuff.

We're simply a group of people from West Michigan (and beyond) who got to know a Kenyan guy and his family a few years ago. After a handful of friends visited his home region three years ago, we realized the huge need for capital in the form of money AND knowlege AND hope. So, we came back to America with hope that our white and blue collar incomes, our educations, and our hope for a better tomorrow, could actually change a part of the world.

We are a young organization - very young. We are also a group of people who believe we can really-really do something significant for a an impoverished rural region of Kenya. So, I ask and pray that you will consider allowing your life to be shaped in greater ways. The ways of Jesus called for people to continually love more intensely. Yet, it seems too often we settle for a daily routine that eventually becomes 'life.'

Drop us a note or give us a call if you have any sense that this may be something of interest to you. As a group of people caring for others, we'll only be as strong as our parts. If you have something to give (beyond money as well), PLEASE hang out with us and let your entire being become captivated by hope!

Peace.

I am in LOndon, Uk and came across this website. I see that there seems to be no blog since April 2009 so I am wondering if this project is still alive and what the latest news is?

  2. Ronald,
Thanks for the note. We are in the process of revamping our website at Kenya Matters.org

Our best and most up-to-date presence can be found at our Kenya Matters facebook group.

This project IS VERY ALIVE! We just returned from two weeks in Kenya from Dec. 26th thru January 12 of 2010.

If you want to get involved, we would love to have you join our efforts!

    Blessings.
